The HRIS Issue
Before selecting Optimum, Reid Supply Company had outsourced their payroll for several years. Their payroll consisted of five companies with bi- weekly paid employees. The company was frustrated by the lack of control they had over the payroll process, as they were tied to the schedule and limitations of the outsourcer. Reid was also dissatisfied with the outsourcerʼs reports which had limited capabilities. The company recognized the areas in which they could most maximize efficiency was their payroll and HR databases. An Easy Conversion
Reid was extremely impressed with the ease of conversion to Optimumʼs software. The prior data was included, which was particularly important because the team did mid-year, July 1, implementation. The conversion of data from January to June allowed for the employees to receive only one W-2. Optimum used a live data approach for training and conversion which made this process much easier. Breaking the training into shorter online sessions allowed for a less disruptive implementation process and support was provided directly by OSI employees rather than through a 3rd party re-seller. Holt reported, “We were very impressed with OSIʼs approach to training and implementation. With their help, we were able to convert two quarters of data for four companies (150 employees total), learn how to use the software and perform multiple tests of the system within 10 weeks. The data conversion went very smoothly and the folks at OSI did extensive testing on their end to help ensure the converted data agreed to the filed data.” After an easy and successful conversion, Reid Entities is now processing payroll in record time and filing their taxes without any issues.
