Affordable Care Compliance
Optimum HRIS can help you tackle the ever-changing requirements of the Affordable Care Act.
What is the Affordable Care Act?
The Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as ObamaCare, is the health care reform program that took effect in the United States on March 23, 2010 and requires all U.S. citizens to have healthcare.
How do I determine my company’s requirements and what it is eligible for?
You can find out your requirements and benefits based upon your employer size. Are you a small or large employer? Employer size is based off of number of employees. An applicable large employer (ALE) has an average of at least 50 full-time employees. A full-time employee generally means they work on average at least 30 hours per week.
Visit www.irs.gov to find more information for ALEs.
How does Optimum keep their clients complaint?
Optimum Solutions is keeping up with the ACA to make data capture for your reporting requirements as painless as possible. Optimum HRIS provides the required Average Hours Worked report to assist with determining which employees are considered full-time equivalents as well as Forms 1094 and 1095. Additionally, Optimum has a report which will determine an employee’s healthcare affordability under the minimum essential coverage regulations. Optimum continues to stay informed of upcoming ACA requirements to keep our clients compliant.
Optimum was proactive in the development, execution, and communication of the 1095-C process. This proactive approach allowed Norfolk Iron to send the 1095-C forms to all employees at the same time we sent the W-2s, where other payroll vendors and companies were still wondering how to comply with this process. We appreciate that Optimum provided information through webinars and updates, but more importantly, their professional and timely customer service.
